*Please note* Fall 2021 is the next term AUTO is accepting new students.
Once you complete the application, follow the steps below:
1—File your FAFSA.
**Students interested in Federal Financial Aid must file a Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov.** FAFSA processing usually takes 4-8 weeks, but it can take as long as 12 weeks to process, so file early. Remember to list Klamath Community College and its Federal School Code—034283—on your FAFSA.
2—Get Placed for Math and Writing.
If you are fresh out of high school or if you have already taken college level writing or math, a Student Success Representative can help you figure out which math and writing classes are right for you. If you are brand new to college and it has been 1 year or more since you graduated from High School, you will need to complete placement testing. You can acquire a math placement test packet from Enrollment Services in Bldg. 3 and/or schedule a writing placement test at the Testing Center in Bldg. 4.
3—Register for classes.
Meet with a Student Success Representative in Building 3 to register for classes, or do so online at mykcc.klamathcc.edu.
4—Attend New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation is held once per term on the Thursday prior to the first day of classes. It is required for students who have never attended college before. Contact Enrollment Services at 541.882.3521 to register for New Student Orientation.
5—FERPA & Confidentiality Notice
According to Federal Law, KCC is allowed to share the “Directory Information” of its students, which includes your name and contact info. If you would like your information to be kept private, you can fill out a “Directory Information Withholding Request” and return it to the Business Office in Building 3. Withholding information can create difficulties, so we advise against it, but the choice is yours.
Further, depending on your program of study, KCC must share information vital to your education with contracted educational service providers. All information is kept confidential and provided on a need-to-know basis.
6—Submit transcripts.
If you have prior college credits, please send official transcripts to:
